Clean Economy Network welcomes its members to a virtual roundtable of
expert panelists who will help elucidate the many ways cleantech
companies can engage with and benefit from working with the National
Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL).

Speakers include:
Bill Farris, VP of Technology Transfer and Commercialization, NREL
Martha Symko-Davies, Manager, DOE Solar Incubator Program at NREL
Steve Hane, Founder and CEO, Ampulse (NREL industrial partner)
Rick LeBlanc, CEO, Skyfuel (NREL industrial partner)
Joel Serface (moderator), CEN Board Member and former NREL
Entrepreneur in Residence with Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers
Summary:

For more than 30 years, the National Renewable Energy Laboratory
(NREL) has been the key US center for research, development, and
deployment of renewable energy and energy efficiency technologies.
Its innovations have fueled the global solar and wind markets with
innovations that have transformed and scaled the industry and created
leading companies such as First Solar.

But NREL is more than just about technologies — it helps companies
integrate, test, and deploy; it leads the nation in analysis of
geographies and policies to help scale these technologies; and it
advises utilities, cities, and states on how to rapidly and
intelligently deploy these solutions. With more than 350 active
industrial partnerships (40% of these with start-ups), management of
EERE’s Energy Innovation Portal, and the only Department of Energy
laboratory that has a substantial contractual mission to support
commercialization, NREL is in a prime position to help move the
cleantech industry move forward.

Unfortunately, working with national laboratories can be an
intimidating endeavor. CEN will examine how companies can work with
NREL and benefit from partnering with them. This call will include
case studies and program discussion from leaders within NREL and
companies who have benefitted from their relationships with the
laboratory.
