Question re: M-Audio Interface

Hey guys, I just had to have my hard drive replaced and OS reinstalled (Mac OS X 10.4), so I'm starting from scratch setting up my home studio and I don't remember what I did two years ago. I think I might have done things out of order and now my computer and reason are not recognizing the m-audio interface/midi controller. I first re-installed Reason, then realized I should re-install the m-audio drivers, which I did, then followed all instructions such as installing the driver, shutting down my computer, then attaching the firewire cable and starting up my computer, but reason still doesn't recognize my midi controller. Please help? Thanks!

Maybe try another FW cable? or another Port?
