just for info - there was good review and lots of discussion there
when they first put up their git branch .. is now as a patch there
after the feedback. sounds nice for net profiling etc.

The MOSES Team has submitted the new network statistics work to the
Mantis (Ticket # 0007632) as a patch.

The statistics include updates to existing network-based metrics and
adds new measures, including: counting transmitted and received
packets and bytes, malformed UDP packets received, and logging in
users. Also, this work adds the ability to capture pings from the
simulator to viewers and external servers and map IP addresses to
connected users. With these metrics, OpenSim users will have the tools
needed to accurately measure their simulator's network performance.
