Some more info from John. He said he updated a bunch of it, so it
might be somewhat new.

Cheers,

Project page: http://forge.opensimulator.org/gf/project/assetserver
Proposal page: http://opensimulator.org/wiki/AssetServerProposal - The
Motivation and Vision sections are the important part, they capture
why we are doing this work and why the current way of handling assets
(and inventory as an extension) needs to evolve.
Client docs: http://opensimulator.org/wiki/AssetServerProposal/ClientDocs
- This details out the wire format used to talk to the new web API
exposed in the asset server. This was done as a simple reference
implementation and can change to suit evolving needs (if you look at
the source code there, a new one can be written quite easily). If you
want to write a client that talks to Cable Beach today, this is the
place to start.
Developer docs:
http://opensimulator.org/wiki/AssetServerProposal/DeveloperDocs -
Provides an overview of the codebase and walks through parts of it. If
you want to do development on the asset server itself, this is a good
starting place and reference. Mike Mazur's recent e-mail to the
opensim-dev list also has some good information.

Read through the above links, and if it doesn't match what you're
looking for let me know and I can address it.

John
