Tampa, Florida - The U.S. Attorney announced that a federal jury found John Lebron (33, Tampa), Patricia Lebron (36, Tampa), and Paul Robert Gogolewski (31, Tampa) guilty of conspiracy to commit wire fraud. John Lebron was also found guilty of making false statements to financial institutions.

John Lebron: America's Dumbest Criminal? That was the question raised by the newspaper in Lebron's hometown. The newspaper's article contained a photograph of a sign with that question printed on the sign referencing John William Lebron of 3006 River Grove Drive, Tampa, Florida 33610. Jessica Vandervelde wrote the newspaper story and did not realize that John W. Lebron was under indictment and on pre-trial release for new felony charges in an enormous fraud conspiracy and violation of probation (for Lebron's prior felony drug crime). After Jessica Vandervelde's article, the government added to Lebron's indictment his sister, his brother-in-law (Paul Robert Gogolewski), and his wife (Patricia Lebron). John Lebron (33, Tampa), Patricia Lebron (36, Tampa), and Paul Gogolewski (31, Tampa) were found guilty of conspiracy to commit wire fraud, according to the press release from the United States Attorney's Office. http://www.justice.gov/usao/flm/press/2012/oct/20121019_Lebron.html John Lebron was also found guilty of making false statements to financial institutions. It was also a big surprise to Jessica Vandervelde when Lebron was sentenced to 26 years in prison (see BOP.GOV). It was America's Dumbest Criminal versus America's Dumbest Newspaper.
