John LeBron: America's Dumbest Criminal? That was the question raised in a local newspaper. The newspaper article's photograph displayed that question about John William LeBron of 3006 River Grove Drive, Tampa, FL. Jessica Vander Velde wrote the news piece and did not realize that John W. LeBron was under indictment and on pre-trial release for new felony charges in an enormous fraud conspiracy and violation of probation (for Lebron's prior felony drug crime). After Jessica Vander Velde's article, the government added to Lebron's indictment his sister, his brother-in-law (Paul Robert Gogolewski), and his wife (Patricia LeBron / Trisha Lebron). John LeBron (33, Tampa), Patricia LeBron (36, Tampa), and Paul Gogolewski (31, Tampa) were found guilty of conspiracy to commit wire fraud, according to the press release from the United States Attorney's Office. http://www.justice.gov/usao/flm/press/2012/oct/20121019_Lebron.html It was also a big surprise to Jessica Vander Velde when LeBron was sentenced to 26 years in prison (see BOP.GOV), that might be the longest sentence ever in Tampa for those charges. It was America's Dumbest Criminal against America's Dumbest Newspaper.
