Informatica Engineer/Administrator

Location: 3/2 Hybrid in W. Des Moines, IA – must be in Iowa or willing to relocate within 2 – 4 weeks of an offer!

Type: 6 month contract-to-hire. They would be on c2c for 6 months, then be taken perm.

Work status: Must be authorized to work in the US without sponsorship, must be USC or Green card holder.

 

My clients preferences are below:

• His first preference is someone with Informatica experience including the full suite of tools (Axon, EDC, IDQ, etc)
• His 2nd choice would be an experienced developer that's interested in moving to an admin position, and has the interest and aptitude to learn Informatica.

 

Skills:

• Responsible for architecting and implementing scalable, well performing, cohesive and integrated Informatica infrastructure. You need to consistently be responsive, flexible, and able to work well in a collaborative environment. Strong emphasis of knowledge on ETL/Informatica development processes.  Make decisions on Informatica Architecture, in addition of other tools and technologies to solve on premise and cloud data integration needs. Staying current with tool specific features and options.  Install, upgrade, configure and maintain Informatica components.  Experience with administration of any of the following Informatica tools will be a plus:

o   PowerCenter/PowerExchange

o   Data Quality

o   Enterprise Data Catalog

o   Axon

o   Master Data Management/Customer 360

o   Test Data Management      

• Proficient in working with LDAP configuration and user management.
• Coordinate with Informatica support for patches and bug fixes.
• Provide strategic recommendations for Data integration tools and Informatica
• Perform disaster recovery functions. Coordinate with development and infrastructure groups to prepare and implement planned maintenance outages.
• Communicate effectively with management and provide timely communication on issues, business impact, mitigation and resolution plans, statuses, and escalation procedures.
• Maintain a good understanding of web application platforms (JBoss, IIS, WebSphere), data integration tools (BizTalk), reporting platforms (SSRS, SharePoint, PowerBI) and automation platforms (Jenkins, Subversion, Ansible).

 

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in MIS or computer science related degree, or equivalent, plus 5 year’s relevant experience.
• Must have in-depth skills in administering Informatica and can support middleware technologies.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills required; must be comfortable partnering with operations and development teams
• Ability to conceptualize potential, new, or changed infrastructure solution designs to satisfy changing business requirements.
• Must have analytical and problem-solving skills, logical information organization skills.
• Must be able to work independently as well as in a team environment.
• Maintain knowledge and skills current in alignment with industry technology developments.
