Hello from an oddball adjunct. I'm a long retired geologist now taking the sun up the coast at Port Macquarie. My programming experiences have always been strictly amateur. I did take an introductory course on Fortran (!) programming once, back in the early 1970s, but nothing formal since then. I messed about with Pascal for a while, but did most of my real-world, self-taught programming in one or another of the early versions of BASIC, particularly early Macintosh. Of course none of the stuff that I wrote then will run on any current hardware, and I have been making some attempts to re-write some of it in RealBasic. Partially successful, but of course it requires a whole new mindset, as I hope you experts will appreciate!

So if it won't bother you I'd like to sit on the sidelines and keep some track of what the rest of you are up to. And if I have a dumb question from time to time, maybe somebody can assist me??

With best wishes to all,

Ken Williams

You're not The "Dr Ken Williams" of EndNote Fame? If so, we go back a long ways.... :-)
