सैयद इमामशाह महाराजने इस्लामके प्रचार हेतु श्रीमद “भगवत” दसावतार ग्रंथ लिखा। (नाम में भी भ्रामकता छुपी है - “भागवत” नही “भगवत” है।) उन्होनें इस ग्रंथ में हिन्दू भगवान विष्णु के दसावतार को भ्रष्ट कर सभी अवतार फिर से लिखे।

સત્પંથ એ સંસ્કૃત શબ્દ છે જેનો પ્રારંભ પીર સદરૂદ્દીન (1290-1367 સીઇ) દ્વારા 700 વર્ષ પહેલાં હિન્દુ ધર્મમાંથી રૂપાંતર દ્વારા બનાવવામાં આવેલી તેમની શ્રદ્ધાને ઓળખવા માટે નિઝારી ઇસ્માઇલિસ અને ઇસ્માઇલી સુફીઓ દ્વારા શરૂઆતમાં કરવામાં આવે છે.  જો કે આજે આ શબ્દનો ઉપયોગ મુખ્યત્વે તેના પૌત્ર ઇમામ શાહ (1430-1520 સીઇ) માં તેમના પૌત્ર પીર ઇમામ શાહ દ્વારા 600 વર્ષ પહેલાં રચાયેલી તેના પેટા સમૂહ દ્વારા કરવામાં આવે છે, જેમાં પોતે વિવિધ પેટા સંપ્રદાયોનો સમાવેશ થાય છે, અને તે મુખ્ય પ્રવાહના નિઝારી ખોજાઓથી જુદા છે.  આગા ખાનને તેમના નેતા તરીકે નકારી કા andો અને ઇમામ-શાહી તરીકે વધુ સામાન્ય રીતે ઓળખાય છે.  અનન્ય રીતે, સત્પંથ શબ્દનો ઉપયોગ historતિહાસિક રીતે ઇસ્માઇલીઓ દ્વારા કરવામાં આવ્યો છે જે મુસ્લિમ હોવાનો દાવો કરે છે, તેમજ હિન્દુ હોવાનો દાવો કરે છે તે પેટા જૂથોના અનુયાયીઓ દ્વારા છે.  ગુજરાતમાં એવા ગામો છે જે અમદાવાદની નજીકના પીરાણા જેવા સંપૂર્ણ 'સત્પંથી' છે જ્યાં ઇમામ શાહ દફનાવવામાં આવ્યા છે.  બાહ્ય મુસ્લિમો જે હિજાબ પહેરી શકે છે અને બાહ્ય હિંદુઓ સાડી જેવા પરંપરાગત વસ્ત્રો પહેરે છે તેવા સત્પંથી દરગાહો ભક્તોમાં એકદમ વિરોધાભાસ સાથે પૂજા કરવામાં આવે છે.

 સત્પંથને હિન્દુ ધર્મ અને ઇસ્માઇલીઝમના સંશ્લેષણ તરીકે વર્ણવી શકાય છે કારણ કે મોટાભાગના લોકો પોતાને "સત્પંથી" કહે છે કે તેઓ હિન્દુ છે અને તેમના હિન્દુ નામો અને પરંપરાઓને જાળવી રાખે છે.  આ એક અનન્ય સુમેળમાં પરિણમ્યું છે જેમાં અનુયાયીઓ હિંદુ પ્રતીકો, ખાસ કરીને ઓમ અને સ્વસ્તિકના ભારપૂર્વક કાર્ય કરે છે, સંસ્કૃત નામો રાખે છે, અને તમામ મુખ્ય ધારાના હિન્દુ ધાર્મિક પ્રસંગોનું નિરીક્ષણ કરે છે, જ્યારે પ્રાર્થનામાં ફારસી અને અરબી દુઆસનું મિશ્રણ શામેલ હોઇ શકે છે.

 "સત્પંથ" શબ્દનો ઉપયોગ મુખ્ય પ્રવાહના ઇસ્માઇલીઓ દ્વારા કરવામાં આવે છે જે બાહ્યરૂપે મુસ્લિમ હોવાનો દાવો કરે છે, મુસ્લિમ નામો રાખે છે, અને જો તેમના હિંદુ ઇતિહાસ સાથેના બધા જોડાણો ન હોય તો, પોતે જ સત્પંથ શબ્દનો ઉપયોગ કરે છે, જે સંસ્કૃત છે.  સાચું માર્ગ ".  દરમિયાન, "ઇમામ-શાહી" સહિત તેના સંબંધિત પેટા જૂથો, ઇસ્માઇલીઝમ અને સુફીવાદ સાથેના કોઈપણ જોડાણને નકારી કા andીને, અને તેમની હિન્દુ માન્યતાઓ અને હિન્દુ પ્રતીકવાદના ઉપયોગ દ્વારા, વિરુદ્ધ અભિગમનો ઉપયોગ કરી શકે છે.
