Cool. Gotta check it out.

Mike, will you integrate it into SVN trunk as soon as it is bug free ?

As soon as I get 0 compile errors and the demos are running I'll commit to the axiom branch.

Dan,
   According to the information I currently have, MDX 2.0 is still pre-release:

This is from the Download page on MS.

Overview

This DirectX SDK release contains updates to tools, utilities, samples, Documentation, and runtime debug files for x64 and x86 platforms. This release also include a public pre-release of Microsoft Cross-Platform Audio Creation tool, Managed Direct Code ( 2.0 CLR), and Direct3D 10.

It also continues to include the DirectX Runtime and Redistributable.

For additional information please see Microsoft DirectX Developer Center along with reviewing the Readme for last-minute updates.

Even though this release is still just a pre-release of the MDX 2.0 components, It's still good to see that they are releasing updates every 2 months, and usually those updates include several improvements.  The only downside to this is that with every release they have made several breaking changes, which has made it difficult to create and distribute projects made using MDX.  Hopefully they will stablize thier interface at some point so that future updates don't break existing code.

Hopefully this release fixes the loader-lock issue when running in the debugger.

Are you getting a loader lock with the MDX 2.0 libraries? You shouldn't because there is only one assembly. You get the LoaderLock with the 1.1 Assemblies and they have no intention of fixing it (That's why they have the MDX 2.0 )

As far as breaking changes goes, that definitly true of the MDX 2.0 assembly. But they do state that the API is in flux.

I may not be referencing the MDX 2.0 libraries.  I have so many versions of MDX installed on my dev box that it's often hard to identify the proper version.  That may be my problem.

Do you know that you can also turn off the loader lock MDA ?

FRom the Debug Menu-> Exceptions
Expand Managed Debugging Assistants
Locate the Loader Lock MDA and clear the 'Thrown"checkbox.

I do know how to turn it off, and I have done so.  I'll have to check my projects tonight, and see if I'm referencing the correct MDX assemblies.  If you've submitted the updates for the new release by then, I'll update to the new release as well.
