Some people in this forum came here from the comp.databases.pick Usenet/NNTP forum. Participation in that group has faded for many reasons including spam and adult "bot" postings. This Reality forum has never had a lot of activity, certainly not the kind of traffic deserving of a deep development platform. I've always been concerned that the absence of discussion in this forum can give people the wrong impression about the popularity of this platform.
So, a new forum has been created for those seeking to discuss a more broad scope of technical matters, and for those who may have avoided some of the issues of CDP. All here are welcome to subscribe to the
new MVDBMS group, which is moderated by a group of colleagues against abusive postings. I've also blogged about the initiative if you'd like more information:

I'm hoping the new forum will invigorate discussion about all aspects of Reality. That forum does not intend to replace this forum, but to expand the base of resources available to this audience. Participants in a forum of broader scope can expose users to more information about products, services, freeware, and other resources which are available for ALL MV platforms, not Reality-only. So for example, utilities and techniques used for web services, reporting, or mobile devices might be available to you, but there just aren't people in this forum here talking about them. And people using other platforms should certainly be interested in the extensive features available in Reality.
Information from "outside" can help to make Northgate IS users more satisfied with their business and technical decisions. A larger user base, as seen in a common MVDBMS group, reflects better upon sales prospects who are considering a purchase of Reality. Ideally it will be to a vendor's advantage to refer prospects to this new group for positive encouragement to buy into Pick-based technology.
Northgate IS employees are also welcome and encouraged to contribute to the community of users seeking to make better use of their platform of choice. Do so anonymously if you wish, off-hours if required, all in-line with company policy. But the presence of interested and helpful Northgate representatives and Reality professionals can be seen as very positive marketing by your client base and by newcomers that will be drawn to the forum.
So please register, learn, contribute, and help our larger community of MV/Pick user/developers to prosper. If you have any questions, please feel free to email me.
Thanks for your time.
