Operation Roadblock

Overview:
As a member of TF Currahee of the 101st AB Div., you are to rendezvous with the ANA 2nd Kandak, 2nd Bn, 203rd Corps, and ANP Border Patrol, Zone 2, where they have located a series of suspected illegal border crossings. You will infiltrate and assault three of these locations, and then provide cover for teams of American and Afghan engineers as they perform demolitions. You can assault the crossings in any order you want. Once the crossings are each clear, you will be tasked with clearing out a known Taliban rally point on the Afghan-side of the border to complete the mission. Under no circumstances my you cross the border into Pakistan, it will result in immediate mission failure.

Attached is a test build for Op. Roadblock. I didn't get to test the final objective myself, but I got through everything else.

Need to get a load screen, voice acting, intro and outro, and overview before she's ready for public release. Keep this for personal use only, no sharing outside the circle. Feedback is welcome!

Hi, OK just finished beta testing OpRB

Very nicely done. Enjoyed it.

-Staging area was immaculate
-missions are widespread, understood and immersible
-briefing is pro looking and well written....(Should we make your layout and the main Template for Briefs or do you think it is too detailed?)
-personally I like team switch but maybe not needed for this mission (except Engineer?)

Suggestions:
1.) Player is still "Allow Damage False". I think you knew that but just saying...
2.) I would suggest the Player be told to take the EXA and not given any other options. Maybe in Dialogue: "Take the EXA for a joy ride, it's a new toy, need to test...blah blah blah..."
3.) Lots of IED's out there. I did not bother with them too much because I did not have to. I would make it a must. 
Player must clear out IED"S and the trigger man. Search and Destroy for trigger men and snipers.
( Be sure players know which team member is capable of unarming IED's
4.) Maybe some typical BIS music. Don't have to overload the file with music unless you want to....

Extension:
1.) Not sure how you can make it a CAMP. Maybe don't need to. It's strong enough as an SP mission and convert to Co-op
2.) Voice acting not needed but will make things more "realistic" and add to immersion.
3.) Intro/Outro.....again not need, but will add to "realism" and add to immersion
You've got a good handle on String tables and making movies, so of course, maybe a breeze for you on the other hand, time consuming and troublesome for me.

Also, in my missions, I have in the Description "Inspired by true events". I think this is a good Trademark for RWO missions/Camps.
Something like "Inspired or Based" on real/true events. This makes it fiction, but a legit fiction....within the Read-me and Description in the Thread....

Thanks a lot for testing, this group should be much easier than coordinating over PM and email to gather play testing feedback!

Responses to Suggestions:

1) Ah yes, I forgot to remove that
2) I was thinking it would be nice in Co-op if the players can all choose their vehicles, but in SP it isn't as necessary at all...in fact they really should only be using the RG-31's (I believe EXA is the name of the mod studio and isn't related to the vehicles themselves, but please correct me if I'm wrong there).
3) I placed the IED encounters in the long stretches of road where nothing else is going on...Obviously the RG-31 needs to encounter some of these to prove it's protective capabilities, but I don't want to have too many...what I may do is have an optional objective that is out of the way but provides extra immersion where you have to find an IED factory and take it out.
4) Was thinking of adding like a radio function similar to M10 in LoK when the player is in a vehicle, they can access the radio...or maybe I'll have squadmates arguing over what music to play on the MP3 player.

Extension:
1) Yeah this is definitely a one-off mission, but I do want to have a Co-Op version-- so before doing all the SP-specific scripts but after getting essentially all the units and mechanics in there, I branched the mission into an SP and CO version. Now I guess I just need to learn what needs to be different for the mission to work accordingly.
2) I'd like to get voice done for this one, it's currently only 37 lines, and a handful of actors needed.
3) Intro/Outro would be nice but really aren't that necessary... Still, I may do it for the sake of more practice. As for string tables, I don't even know what that means, haha! I'm an intro/outro n00b still.

Re: Briefings
I definitely think we should be using a template for briefings, but it should be based on the format used by the military of the country the player is assuming the role of.

The briefings I've created follow the US Army's 5-paragraph format. I know the UK follows essentially the same format, but with different headings. See here:

We should look up to see if there are different formats for France, for example, Russia etc. I can definitely post up an empty template for a US 5-para WARNO for all US-based missions.

OK this is the initial release I just submitted to Armaholic tonight. I will put together a post in the next day or so with all the requirements for RWO releases.

Hey, I tried to beta test the mission, but the CBA used for the RG32 addon is playing tricks on me.

Despite having applied the beta patch, it throws out error messages and I cannot load any saved games - anybody having the same problem? Or better still, is there a solution to that problem?
