Hi,

I've just discovered reahl.  Looks great.  Is it similar to Anvil (which I've also just discovered) ??

I have an application in mind that requires plotting real-time data.  e.g. temperatures, voltages.

Are there any plotting/graphing components for reahl ??

Thanks, Brendan.

Hi Brendan,

Thanks for looking!

We don't have any graph components yet I'm afraid. Building them should
not be very difficult though - especially if we know exactly how you
want to use them. Do you have any preferences for what python library to
use underneath? Its been a while since I looked at this sort of thing.

I've only looked briefly at Anvil a while back - not enough to give you
a comprehensive answer. I think the best is to build something simple in
both and compare for your own needs.

We have been working for a long time now towards version 5, which
includes some important new functionality. I don't want to make any
promises about when this will be finalised, but we are getting very
close to releasing.

If you want to have a look at that too, you can try our docker preview
image iwanvosloo/docker-dev:5.0.0a1 with some instructions to use it
accessible here:

Iwan

I definitely think Plotly is the main contender.  It's used by Dash (for obvious reasons) and other web frameworks (e.g. Anvil).

Dash has some really good libraries for various domains (Data Acquisition, Bioinformatics, Data Tables, Canvas, and Bootstrap too).

Django seems to have standard or plugins for charting.  There are options for plotly.js and Charts.js.  I don't know anything about these.

Brendan.

Hi Brendan,

Thanks for the note, I've added
https://github.com/reahl/reahl/issues/281 for this.
