To delete your Netflix watch history, access your Netflix profile, then go to the Viewing activity section to see your Netflix history. You can delete Netflix movies and shows from the list one by one or clear all of them in one shot.
When you delete shows or movies from your Netflix watch history, the titles will not appear as watched, will not be used to bolster your recommendations, and will be removed from the Continue Watching horizontal row in the app.
Netflix does not provide an option to directly delete your login history. However, you can sign out of all devices currently logged in to your account by going to your Account settings, selecting "Sign out of all devices," and confirming the action. This will effectively clear your login history across all devices.
To remove a title from your "Continue Watching" row, navigate to the title, select the three-dot icon below it, choose "Remove from Row," and confirm your selection. This action will remove the selected title from your "Continue Watching" list across all devices, ensuring a cleaner and more personalized viewing.
Netflix uses your viewing history to make recommendations based on your interests. However, if you share your Netflix account with others or if you have watched content that is not reflective of your preferences, it can skew the recommendations you receive. By modifying your viewing history, you can ensure that the suggestions you receive are more accurate and aligned with your current preferences.
I was trying to find an official statement about it, which I'm pretty sure exists since I remember reading about it a while ago, but it seems that the Netflix help has changed and it's hard to find what you are looking for.
That's not entirely true. You can now find your history and remove the logs of your viewing. They try to force you manually to click on a lot to remove everything but if you do it will remove your viewing history and revert to showing you starting at the beginning of episodes. I confirmed this on my account.
If you have any semblance of experience with web-programming instead of clicking you can run a jQuery function within the browser console. For instance, in Chrome, right click on anything then click on the "Inspect Element" option. It doesn't matter where on the page you do this. Just make sure your on the netflix page with your history. In the console type jQuery('.deleteBtn').click(); and click enter. This command simulates mouseclicks on all your checkboxes to removing everything in your history at once without the annoyance of having to manually scroll down and click on everything. The rows in the table will look like they're updating. If you wait it'll look like the page is hanging but you don't need to let the page reload. After you follow the steps, give the page about 2-3 seconds then refresh the page-the previously displayed history records should be gone. Rinse and repeat until all your viewing history is gone.
Note if you want to only do this for one particular series, don't use the above command. Netflix has a way to remove your history for a particular series in two clicks. Click once to remove an episode, then it gives an option to remove history for an entire series.
So, I see there's still no solution. The Roku channel is making suggestions that I don't want it to make, based on movies I've deleted from "continue watching". It's a simple fix, from a developer standpoint. That you haven't added some option to solve it says a lot about your company.
Go to the upper menu (Home, Live TV, Guide, "My Library", etc) Move your selection all the way to the right through your "Watched History" movies. At the end there should be a clear selections option, "Watchlist" also has this option...
ROKU used to have this option. They deleted it. They deleted it, because they are gathering as much information as they can....Allowing YOU to delete the movies you have watched depletes their data mining process......So....If you and your wife watch a movie that is very adult, and your kids use the same TV, they get to see the movie Mommy and Daddy was watching.....Or maybe a movie you don't want your wife to know you watched...lol.....There IS NO SOLUTION TO THIS EXCEPT THIS!!!! Go into your search on the main screen, and keep searching cooking, and baking....You'll get cooking and baking shows replacing any racy movie you may have stumbled upon......It's the only way until ROKU puts the delete feature back. Plus, it screws up the data mining process.....I am not 100% sure if this will work 100%, but I tried it, and it seems to work? Anyway, ROKU is selling data to the Chinese just like google, Facebook, and Microsoft. Good Luck, ROKU wont help you, their customer service pretends like they don't even know what you mean, when they darn well know! Betcha they delete this post.
When using Safari to access Netflix, I no longer see any images - only text and black boxes where the images should be. Netflix says it is a Safari problem. They had me reinstall Safari, restart my Mac and restart my modem. None of that worked. If I use Firefox as my browser, everything works fine.
Unless the computer is connecting to the Office Workplace or Financial Institution using a VPN is over rated. The VPN has all your personal information including Credite ? Debit card for the purchase of their Services.
My mistake about re-installing Safari. I only did an update to 16.3 but that did not fix the issue with no images on Netflix. I am running a 2015 Mac Pro on 12.6.3. The problem started about 2 weeks ago. No other streaming service is effected. In addition, Firefox runs Netflix fine on the same Mac. Any other suggestions?
I do not have any visual anomalies when viewing Netflix on either macOS 12.6.3, or Ventura 13.2.1, either with Safari 16.3. The only extension installed in Safari is Noir which I disable before signing into Netflix. I also clear my browser cache and history before viewing anything on Netflix. You might do the same.
No solution yet. It is hard to understand what application is the source of the problem. Safari continues to work correctly with other streaming services and Netflix continues to work correctly on other browsers. Turning other things on/off or removing them has no effect on the result in Safari with Netflix.
Thanks for this. I was able to remove the remaining bits of McAfee and Avira. I then restarted. Although it did not fix the Netflix problem, I do appreciate the help. The issue may have nothing to do with my Mac and could be some weird Netflix problem. I'll just use Firefox with Netflix for the immediate future. Thanks again for trying.
Have you tried creating a new user account, and then logging into Netflix from Safari while running as the new user? That was the only way I could fix a weird Netflix problem I had with Safari in which the videos still played, but all of the video control icons like play/pause were displaced to the top of the screen.
There will be future updates for Monterey from 12.6.3 to resolve this graphics issue with Safari 16.3 ? I finally did a reload of Monterey with Apple Support and then refused the update for Safari to 16.3...now graphics appear. Another side issue, the finder window with Monterey will not show iPhone or iPad in window for wifi bluetooth sync...I'm a little worried Apple will leave us Mac Book Pro users from early 2016 and prior will now miss out on updates completely.
In the Safari app , you can erase your browsing history and data to clear the cache on your iPad. This action removes the history of websites you visited and recent searches from your iPad. This process also removes the cookies and permissions you granted to websites to use your location or send you notifications.
