Volunteers with Community Advocates for Clean Energy of Greater Philadelphia (
cacephilly.com) worked with the
PA Solar Center and the Philadelphia Energy Authority's
Solarize Greater Philadelphia to map the solar potential for the 45 Ready for 100 municipalities and those with EACs in SE PA.
There is still an opportunity to qualify for the 30% federal credit for their installation if completed and operating by the end of 2027.
This is an opportunity to spread the word about the financial savings from installing solar. Solar is becoming more valuable as electricity rates increase. Between January 2022 and January 2026, PECO's Commercial Rate
Price to Compare increased approximately 50%. Solar is a great way to lock in an electricity rate and stabilize the budget.
Please submit this form if you would like to help with the follow-up to yours or a neighboring municipality.
Potential budget savings if the sites were to be installed.
The PA Solar Center and the Philadelphia Energy Authority's process will help municipalities evaluate opportunities to finance the installation or enter into a Power Purchase Agreement with solar developers.
This exercise also identified 14 municipalities that have installed solar or are planning to. If we miss any, please let me know.
