Subject: Montgomery County Sustainability Updates

Hi EAC members,

I hope you all enjoyed the long weekend. I'm reaching out to share a few sustainability updates with you all:

  1. Join Solarize Greater Philadelphia on May 28th from 12-1 for an exclusive EAC webinar to find out why NOW is the best time for your partner organizations and stakeholders to invest in solar. The Philadelphia Energy Authority and the Solarize program need your help to get the word out because the sunsetting of the 30% ITC is rapidly approaching – the time for all of us in the five-county SE PA area to make a decision is now. The webinar will provide an overview of Solarize’s one-stop shop for conducting a project feasibility analysis, all the way through the RFP process, financing, and installation. There will be plenty of time for questions. Register in advance for this meeting: https://us02web.zoom.us/meeting/register/eudDcivwT2CIWUPYlaOGtQ

  2. The Keystone Research Center (KRC) released a new report, Use It or Lose It: Why Pennsylvania Should Accelerate Solar Projects to Capture Federal Tax Credits, that documents the six-fold growth of solar energy in Pennsylvania since 2019 and lays out a roadmap for Pennsylvania to capture billions of dollars in remaining federal Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) tax credits before shortened deadlines under the “One Big Beautiful Bill Act” (OBBBA) take them off the table.

  3. This year's Environmental Advisory Council Conference will be held at the Retreat to St. Thomas, located in Fort Washington, PA, in Montgomery County. The annual EAC Conference is organized by WeConservePA to provide education, networking, and resource-sharing for Environmental Advisory Council members, local municipal leadership and staff, and community supporters. The 2026 event will be hosted by the Montgomery County Department of Sustainability. Please save the date and plan to enjoy a robust day of EAC-focused programming at a beautiful and inspiring venue on October 24. A call for session proposals will be announced in June, so please begin to consider any EAC initiatives, partnerships, or resources that you may wish to submit for the planning committee to review.

Feel free to reach out to me with any questions.

Regards,
Devi
