This stuff has been in my garage for about 7 years now, from a failed 3D printer kickstarter.
It's long overdue for me to dispose of it all.

Feel free to reply to me directly or the group, as most appropriate.

If you think it's worth something, make me a low offer and it goes to you.
If you could use it but don't think it's worth money, just offer £0 - if nobody else wants it then it's yours.
If you think it could be useful in the hackspace, LMK and I'll donate it.
If you want to come round and rummage through, let me know :)

Everything else will go to recycling or the bin.

* The aluminium bits are mostly bespoke parts and likely only useful for smelting.
* The steel plates are 1mm, 3mm, and some are 5mm - powder coated so hard to do much with without excessive cleaning, but might be useful for cutting up and using in art projects or making smaller plates from.
* There is more of everything pictured - I just took a few sample shots.

1. Aluminium parts: hot-end radiators; motor mount plates; rotary-switch knobs

2. Aluminium extrusion, lots more, I think it's 40x40x400

3. More random alu bits (from feeder mechanism)

4. Alu plates - lots more, different sizes, some have heater PCB potted on.

5. Different PSUs, RUMBA boards, RAMPS boards (more in another box, some with drivers)

6. 60mm fans (there are a load of 40mm ones somewhere too)

7. Lots of standard fasteners, screws, washers, etc. and some nozzles and filament feed parts.

8. HeatbedMK2B - I suspect these are obsolete garbage by now.

9. LCD screens (22, boxed), with rotary-control and ribbon cables.

10. Linear bearings for 8mm rod; alu tubes for bearings; various other alu bits; pinion gears
pinion_alu_bearings.jpg

11. Lots of steel plates 1mm, 3mm (400x400 and 290x290 I think). Also many smaller parts/plates and some thick 5mm slabs of steel. Very heavy, limited usefulness due to powder-coating and pre-drilled holes, but hopefully could be useful for someone.

12. Built 3D printers (3) - probably not working. There is this one pictured, an EcubMaker Fantasy Pro II, and an ancient wooden one.

13. A fair bit of PTFE tube - there is more of this and in different sizes.

14. Rusty steel(?) racks - probably scrap or art-project material / welding practice(?)

15. 8mm steel rods

16. NEMA17 stepper motors, I have at least 24, I think there's another box of 40 somewhere too.

17. More RAMPS boards (with drivers); power switches; thermistors; USB sockets; reel holders (kitchen cabinet feet)

18. Various gauges of insulated copper wire in various colours.

hello!

thanks so much for your generous offer.

i have a cnc project in mind, and i would love to take some of these bits off your hands.

the 40mm alu extrusion would be perfect, ill take all of that if possible. i would also like one or two rumba boards, the meanwell power supply and half a dozen steppers, that should put me much closer to where i need to be.

im not even sure what to offer for those bits. does fifty quid seem reasonable?

i also have a home lined up with a friend of mine and her 9 year old for the ecubmaker if nobody else wants/needs it, but please offer it to anyone else in need of a machine before me.

as for the hackerspace, i would suggest most of the steel parts you have would be good to put in the scrap bin next to the metal lathe unless youre offered some money for them. it will all be slowly used up, and those racks look perfect for welding and forging practice.

i dont have any wheels at the moment, any chance you could drop those parts off at the lab at some point?

thanks again for your generosity.

Hi Jay, I sent you a direct message yesterday but now I can't see any trace of it, so maybe I did something wrong (it's been a long time since I last used Google groups!).

Anyway just to say I'd be interested in the thicker steel plates and possibly some of the aluminium ones, the powder coating / holes isn't much of a concern. Definitely happy to pay more than scrap value and I think I could make better use of them than just going in the scrap bin at the lab.

Thanks,
Andy

Correction on the aluminium extrusion:

It's not 40x40, it's 30x30

24 of 30x30x400
36 of 30x30x300

oh my god thats a lot of aluminium!
much more than i will ever use.

ok, well if youre willing to let go of it i can find a place to put it and make sure it goes towards good causes in future. a stock of good stout framework will never go to waste

i would like to put together a small cnc aluminium capable mill that would evolve into something useful to the space, but right now its nothing more than a pleasant thought and a few bookmarks!

are you in any rush? im doing a hippy festival soon, im free Wednesday Thursday and Friday, and then im away for about ten days. i would love to meet up for a bit of a natter and a rummage, its always a pleasure to go through the scrap pile and brainstorm what to do with the bits...
