Hi all
Pursuing an odd tangent in my chocolate extrusion process, to neatly enclose everything, make it food safe and to reduce noise, I will be submerging steppers in oil.
I have tried this before, it works, but I wonder if there are reliability or lifetime limiting factors to consider?
Weirdly I understand the steppers themselves can cope even with being run under water that has not been demineralised - it's the driver electronics that would suffer. What I am thinking of is that choice of oil could slightly or drastically shorten lifetime of bearings, (or maybe even improve it?)
Any ideas gratefully received.
Finally have been using non food grade freeze spray from Maplin to control setting - Anywhere local I could get food safe freeze spray please?
Mark (Kleinebre) - do you know anyone who might have it? Realistically I'd need to get it tomorrow which further limits choice... Otherwise I know where I can order online...
Cheers
Alex
