Hi All

Just a quickie, I've found out today that RDWorks V8 has problems with running on Windows10, namely it keeps on crashing when trying to import a dxf files. Which brings me on to my next question, do we have anything 2mm thk that can be burnt on the laser, if so can someone help me do some cutting tonight please that is if the big laser is available.

Does it crash and burn if RDWorks V8 is installed using compatibility mode?

If I recall, we were using RDWorks V7 when I did my training.
Is V8 now the best to use ? Are they files compatible ? What are advnatages ?

When I "upgraded" to win 10, the compatibility app didn't have any issues with anything, so I assumed it was going to be okay. After re-downloading V8 to try it with the compatibility wizard it will open dxf files, that is one's that are complete, I have tried 2 files on my usb stick that did and didn't work last night and a good file that I created today from the last known good one and it seems okay, but when I try to open a 'bad' dxf file and it'll just crash no warnings just closes.

So I would suggest that the laser PC isn't 'upgraded' to win10 any-time soon, until the 'laser team' makes a decision.

When it stopped working recently I reinstalled both v7 and v8.

Only v7 seems to properly connect over USB. V8 also seems to crash more under Windows 7 AND the files that it produces don't always open under V7.

So I would recommend using v7 for compatibility. I see no advantage to using v8 that we are missing out on. Anyone know different?

Tapped on my mobile phone.
