Hi,

Before I start searching on ebay, does anyone have a small wall-mount
19" rack cabinet which they would be willing to donate to the new
hackspace building?

The requirements are fairly modest, it only has to fit a patch panel,
ethernet switch, a power bar and a router. 6U and 300mm depth would be
plenty. We are specifically not looking for a full depth rack for
holding servers, it wants to be small and unobtrusive.

Matt - you mentioned that you had a flight case rack. Was that available
for permanent donation to rlab, or just a loan? i.e. could we chop bits
off and bolt it to the wall?

I have a really decent six foot free standing 19" patch rack we could cut some off and make a box for if we want to make one

I do have a flight case rack that the space can keep. I just need to retrieve it from my parents roof......

Why not something like this if you want unobstrusive...

Well if we want to be unabtrusive why not just mount a switch and a router on the wall.  A patch panel is a bit over the top when we have nothing but the switch to patch it to! :)

Cool. Can you bring it to the new hackspace for the meeting tomorrow? I'll bring a patch panel and a cable tester.
