Bit of a long shot, but if anyone has a big submersible pump then The
Mill at Sonning would be very happy if they could borrow it. They are
currently running 3 of them and the flood is still getting worse!
They contacted my theatre in Ealing to see if we had one that we could
loan, but ours is a tiddler.

Hi Nigel,
Sorry no submersible pumps.
I have a large 3 phase vertical multistage pump Lowara I think, but not sure how that might work for them. We used it to circulate water on the very big laser for a while
Cheers,
Richard

It sounds like the pumps don't actually need to be submersible (yet!),
just able to pump from a shallow puddle that is growing in size. No
idea if yours would be useful to them.
Someone will be collecting our small one from Ealing later, they seem
pretty desperate.

The only published phone number is for box office which is probably
closed by now. I have passed your details on, once they find their way
to the other end of the WhatsApp chain you will probably get a call.

Our pump has just been collected and I saw some photos and videos of
the flood - it is looking bad and expected to get a lot worse. Who
would have thought that being on an island in the middle of the Thames
is a flood risk...
The water has started getting into the electrics so this evening's
performance got cancelled, I recommended that once the dimmers aren't
under river water anymore they should be flushed with clean water and
then given plenty of time to dry. They will probably survive, but I
won't be at all surprised if they don't ask for some specialist help
before switching them back on.

Thanks Nigel,
Eager to help but not sure if my offer may hinder or help. The pump has strong capability but I think only in the hands of a competant electrical engineer. Pump is not self priming.
Offer is for any support within or without reason. Mill at Sonning is valued local venue.
Thanks for all your support,
Richard
