Replacement e-ink displays are about 30 quid, here you can get the whole device for the same price.

/me sees a wifi enabled fridge magnet in his near future.

I bought a Nook Simple Touch from Currys / PC World last night for �29
to actually use as an ebook reader. As they're Android underneath, I
indend to root it and put an alternative e-reader app like Aldiko on it
which isn't tied to the B+N store, and Dropbox or Google Drive for
syncing .epub files from my PC.

If anyone else has one, I'm intending to follow these howtos to root it:
