Guys,

If you are not coaching this summer please consider coaching. The
program is missing key positions even as the season is beginning!

Message below from Dave Blanchard went out today.

To All Summer Soccer Registrants,

Team formation for the Summer Program is still at a standstill because
we are lacking coaches in the various age groups. In a few cases we
have assigned people who volunteered to Assist as Coach for teams,
while in the U12 group two teams are without either a coach or an
assistant. We could use your help. Please contact me at
regi...@rusc.org  if you are willing to help with your child's
team. Whether we get more help or not, team assignments and schedules
will be going out soon.

Not sure if Brian replied to you directly ... but figure this could apply to others on the list.

Summer soccer is 2 days a week, M/W or T/Th.  U6 and U12 play at 5:30; U8 and U10 play at 6:30.  U6 plays only games; the others have one game and one practice.  I believe most of the games will be at Parker (on the turf), but sometimes they send the practices elsewhere (Coolidge, Longwood, Wood End).  We're still waiting on the final teams and locations.

You'll get a team of 8-12 kids, co-ed.  Your job is to teach them a few skills and let them have fun.  The kids keep score, but the coaches don't (officially).  The U6 (and even some U8s) will need help staying focussed on the game :).  You'll have some good ones and some newbies; they should all get equal playing time, because it's about having fun in the summer.

I think this will be my 6th year coaching.
