RASLG Players,

Sign-ups are successfully closed and we are full for the indoor soccer
season. We have 10 players paid up so we covered the gym fees and we
will be able to play 5v5. That is about the limit of the gym unless
we rotate during the game.

A number of people have asked whether or not we will permit "walk-on"
players. Our objective is to learn soccer and get as many people onto
the pitch as possible so in that spirit I think we should allow walk-
ons. However, it would not be fair to those who have paid for the
whole season to be bumped or limited in their playing time. Without
these paid in advance players no one would be playing. We all have
other activities and it is fairly common for even our core group to
miss a session now and then.

So, after speaking with many of you about how you feel, here's the
policy:

* walk-ons are allowed, space permitting
* walk-ons pay $5 in cash before they play. This is a small premium
over the season subscription and a nice round number that minimizes
making change.
* season subscribers have game time priority whenever we have more
than 5v5
* the walk-on fee will be used for RASLG activities

If we get a lot of walk-ons, we can always try to book more time or a
larger space. Please don't view this as "oh, I can't play"--it's
really the opposite. Everyone I spoke with agreed that we want
everyone who wants to play to be able to come every week or any week.

Hopefully I captured the pros and cons. If this doesn't sound
equitable, please let me know and I can try to make reasonable
adjustments.

Thanks.

Brian

Brian,
I do like this thinking process but just wanted to throw one or two other thoughts from my end.

- I am glad that we are keeping the numbers on the field at 5 v 5. This ensures that it doesn't end up being a wild melee :)
- Good that people who have paid up get priority
- I for one know that I will miss a few sessions. And I will be happy to send a note the week before that and let the group know. That way, somebody else can contribute the $$$ to RASLG and play. This will ensure that we will always have 10 people on the field ensuring a fine time :)

Thank you for organizing the logistics around this. It's much appreciated and I look forward to playing.

Thanks & Regards,
Reji

Thanks Brian - This seems fair.

FYI - my season subscription is on eBay with a $250 minimum bid.

Hey Brian,
Thanks for the update. Maybe I will able to make some "walk on" sessions. Any practice I get can only help.
Thanks again.

Charlie
