ReadAir & Google Reader / Gears

Hi there

I'm interested in understanding the roadmap for ReadAir in relation to
Google Reader & Gears.

I believe that ReadAir only works when I fire up the Application,
whereas I'm assuming that whenever I come online, Gears will be
working in the background to gets feeds etc.

I'm trying to minimise jobs working in the background like this - to
preserve system performance and bandwidth used etc..

Questions:
- Am I correct in assuming that ReadAir only looks for posts when
working?
- Am I correct in understanding the way Gears works?
- How will ReadAir fit in with Reader and Gears, given my issues
expressed above?
