Code blocks in italics

Hello everyone,

I have code blocks which are essentially JSON and they are rendered in italics in Read the Docs.  How do I fix this?

So something like this:

    {
        id: int,
    }

Will render as:

{
    id: int,
}

By indenting in four spaces as demonstrated in the email.

I've changed it to using ``` at the beginning and end and still see the same issue.  For some reason, the css class "cs" is getting applied to these json blocks and that is putting in italics.

Does this make a difference:

Because this is the markdown, that statement doesn't help.  Now it is all just a jumble of text.

Doh!  You are correct.  I forgot to mention that.  So, if i'm using Markdown, am I just stuck with italics?

I have *no* clue. I rarely use markdown.


You could always try specifying the language explicitly:

```json
{ "x": "whatever" }
```

RTD uses mkdocs for markdown, so you might want to ask somewhere related to there. Good luck!
