Generating RD patterns to form 3D mesh

Hello,

I'm trying to generate RD patterns to form an imported 3D mesh and I'm in need of some guidance. I'm trying to obtain the result shown on the bunny image attached to the Ready 0.8 release page (see below)

I'm able to import 3D meshes but I'm only able to generate patterns on the surface of the object. I would really appreciate any tips on how to use the imported 3D mesh to determine the final form of a volumetric RD pattern.
