How to change Bunny Mesh for the reaction diffusion demo ?

I want to apply to a different animal ... the corel looking pattern.

Is this possible ?

Hi ggaliens,

You can use File > Import Mesh.. to run reaction-diffusion on a mesh of your own. Attached one to try.

There's a few things to look out for. The faces should be connected (shared vertices). There should be enough faces - a six-sided cube won't do anything interesting. The size and shape of the faces should be similar. But you can break all of these rules if you want to.

Regards,

Tim

Thanks for the swift and encouraging reply.

With some more efforts ... replacing your bunny with mine worked ok.  It seemed like maybe having a large N-GON at one point choked you app out. I don't know this for sure ... but it didn't seem to start.  Then I used adaptive isomorphic triangle remesh to clean it up and make it dense ... and this was a great result.

That being said ... replacing zebra stripes with bunny did not seem to work for me. I wanted a striped bunny. What might be happening to me ?

I open the zerbra example ... run it. Works fine. Then import mesh ... and somehow ... it changes the rules on my to Grey scott drom zebra rules.

What is the basic order of operations to decouple mesh from rules and pattern ?  Thanks in advance for any more wisdom you might shed.

I tried the cube attached, seems to work, but identical cube exported from Blender does not work... something strange.

Further investigation, I inspect and compared your Cube obj and Blender exported obj, apparently the culprit is the notation // and / if we are "including the uv". It's a strange error, but glad I figured it out.

Exporting OBJ from Blender, needs "include UV" checked off for the 3D mesh to work properly in Ready.
