I have RDV 1.9 installed and running using the latest java from sun (1.6.0.07) under linux.  Every time I start it up it tries to connect to the data turbine server.  It has yet to, but I really want to just work with local data.  How do I get the import menu item to not be grey'd out?

  Thanks,
    Shawn

Hi Shawn,

When RDV runs it should start up a local Data Turbine server
transparently and connect to it. Once it connects to it, the import
menu should be enabled. It seems like there is some issue either
starting this local Data Turbine server or connecting to it. Perhaps
it is some firewall issue. What distribution are you on?

Can you run RDV from the command line and post the loging messages it
prints out. Do you see any obvious error messages?

Thanks,
Jason
