Regina's Bears in Hazenmore aren't afraid of partaking in new and interesting musical adventures. The atmospheric alternative rock five-piece has been incorporating brass with reverb-drenched guitar since 2014. They first tasted national recognition when their tracks "These Northern Mountains" and "Winter Air" (both off of their Bears in Hazenmore EP) were featured on CBC.

In 2015 they toured the country with their second EP before putting some work in at a summer music camp in 2016. It was there that they met Moose Jaw's most prized possession, Megan Nash. That meeting spawned a glorious collaboration that led to BIH recording all the music on Megan's highly received album "Seeker".

"I think we were mostly just going for a sonic experience that was, at face value, generally enjoyable and more or less accessible" Rempel said, adding, "but with a considerable amount of depth so that listeners who engaged thoughtfully with the music would be rewarded with new things every time they listen."

The music on Atlas is supplemented with an extensive amount of liner notes; a massive work of art created by Kelsey Chabot, a long time friend and collaborator of the band. The liner notes tie each song to a physical location. The physical locations are related to feelings and stories captured in each song. To do that, the band, with Kelsey's help, came up with the idea of taking snippets of real world maps and rendering them next to the lyrics. Cartography for soul seekers. Ten epic songs charting the mysterious land journey of Bears in Hazenmore.

The album Nyla ushered in a new phase of the multi-talented music maker's career. Boasting an impressive resume filled with dream-come-true moments like writing and vocal producing Michael Jackson's "Butterflies" and working with Alicia Keys, Kanye West and Dr. Dre, a successful career with poetic neo-soul duo Floetry, and now three albums into an explorative solo career, Ambrosius' resume continues to expand. But as she moves further away from where she started in Liverpool, England, here are a few ways how she's moving closer to herself, closer to her real.

Nyla showcases a dizzying list of musical influences, including, according to her, everything from Aretha Franklin and Marvin Gaye to Queen and Duran Duran. The album also covers a lot of historical ground, from the intoxicating modern soundscapes of "Bottle Fulla Liquor" to throwback soul on "Today," which came naturally for Ambrosius.

"It's feeling. Especially currently, with the social climate, we music that just makes you feel," she says, dismissing labels of her new album as simply R&B, pop or hip-hop. "Everyone's like, 'we need good soul!' I'm like, 'what's soul, ultimately?' I find soul in anything."

At 46, she released some of the most intriguing and successful singles of her career: "El Jefe," with música mexicana sensation Fuerza Regida, "TQG," with fellow Colombian KAROL G, and an already classic Bizarrap session that may well be the best revenge song of the past 50 years. In November she collected three Latin GRAMMY awards and, in March, the GRAMMY Museum opened an exhibit focusing on her music.

Quick to absorb the influences that evolve around her, she sounds right at home in the jagged bounce of the rhythm track, trading seduction barbs like a seasoned reggaetonera. Shakira seems to love infectious dance music, and the urbano cosmovision is a perfect match for her pop sensibility.

Released on Oct. 27, "Perfect Night" is LE SSERAFIM's first all-English track, co-written by member HUH YUNJIN. The group teamed up with the video game 'Overwatch 2' to create the animations for the music video; they later promoted the track at the gaming convention BlizzCon 2023.

The Recording Academy and GRAMMY Museum today announced a total of 10 music teachers as finalists for the 2024 Music Educator Award, the annual honor that recognizes current educators who have made a significant and lasting contribution to the music education field and who also demonstrate a commitment to the broader cause of maintaining music education in the schools. The 10 finalists, who hail from 10 cities across nine states, were selected from more than 2,000 initial nominations submitted from across all 50 U.S. states. See the full list of the 2024 Music Educator Award finalists below.

Each year, one Music Educator Award recipient is selected from 10 finalists and recognized for their remarkable impact on students' lives. The selected recipient will receive a $10,000 honorarium and matching grant for their school's music program. The nine additional finalists will receive a $1,000 honorarium and matching grants. The remaining 15 semifinalists will receive a $500 honorarium with matching school grants.

An established partnership between the Recording Academy and GRAMMY Museum, the Music Educator Award is open to current U.S. music teachers. Anyone can nominate a teacher: students, parents, friends, colleagues, community members, school deans, and administrators. Teachers are also able to nominate themselves. Nominated teachers are notified and invited to fill out an application.

The Recording Academy is continuing to honor the legacy of hip-hop, to one of the most popular genres of music in America. Held on Dec. 4 at the GRAMMY Museum in downtown Los Angeles, Resonance: Celebrating 50 Years of Hip-Hop was presented by the Academy's Black Music Collective and sponsored by City National Bank.

The Resonance event took over the Museum's fourth floor, which is home to the recently unveiled "Hip Hop America: The Mixtape Exhibit." There, members and leadership from the Academy and BMC, along with musicians and industry professionals, celebrated 50 years of music that has transcended boundaries, inspired advocacy and fostered impactful social change.

The power of connection and representation was emphasized by five-time GRAMMY winner Jimmy Jam, an R&B songwriter, music producer, and illustrious GRAMMY Museum Board Member. "The idea of 'resonance' struck a chord in me because the mission is unification, amplification and to celebrate Black music. Nothing resonates more in our everyday lives than hip-hop."

"We protect and celebrate those who have shared their gift as well as ensure their artistic contributions are accessible for people of all walks of life around the world and for future generations," she said, adding that as a Museum board member, "educating the next generation of artists and teachers is always top of mind. The 'Mixtape Exhibit' really will inspire students to pursue hip hop and the music industry."
