Hi,

Is there any current (or maybe future) way to extract the currentUser email using the WebServices API from an authorized application?

Cheers!

Hi James!

We don't currently offer access to the user's email address. What
would you like to use the email for?

Best

Just as a communication channel to any users my app might have. To be honest, it was more of a question out of curiosity.

While you are here though, I do have another question:

Does the lastSongPlayTime (shown on this page) field contain the last time a song started to play or the last time a song was playing?

Cheers

That field gets updated at the end of a track. That means I could be
listening to something else when you request that field.

Ok, so the user has to listen to a song the whole way through for it to be updated?

Thanks for your help.

Actually, I think it's player dependent. Some players will update as soon as a track starts and some will update after a track ends, depends on the platform.

It is safest to assume though that you're getting the update after the track has completed. I believe that's what most players do.

I'm using passportjs to do rdio authentication, it'd be nice to get the user's email address(just like other providers do, Facebook, twitter, etc.) for future communications with the users of my app.

Also, do you guys know if passportjs automatically manages the lifecycle of the tokens? or do I need to manually get a refresh token if the current access token has expired?

Thank you.
