Spectralissimecan use any audio device as audio source (WDM; KS, MME, ASIO) and can manage up to 64 I/O on ASIO device (patch function allows selecting channel). Two Channels can be selected and called A & B. This first Spectralissime version performs a single channel view, but the analysis can then done on A, B, A+B or A-B. Spectralissime can also get signal from a VBAN Stream and then can be deported to a second computer connected on local network (Ethernet). Monitoring option allows selecting another audio device to monitor the analyzed signal.
Spectralissime proposes new ways of viewing spectrum for a better analysis and comprehension of audio signal. It proposes different scale in gain (6dBfs, 10dBfs, dB SPL) and frequency representation (decade or octave) and can be used as a measuring tool with a calibrated microphone. The Isophonic Scale shows isophonic curve and displays scale in dB SPL. A calibration value can be set to adjust level to any microphone for any acoustic measure.

I think it would be useful to go beyond describing the features this possesses and explain what use-cases this would have for people not engaged in professional scientific audio research. I'm sure there are things about this helpful to others as well, but it is not clear in this introductory text how useful it could be.
i just stumbled on this software and i am having a question:
is it possible to run the output of my asio host program (in my case presonus studio one) into spectralissime, so that i could use this marvellous analyzer in realtime, while producing/mixing/mastering my songs? if so - how would i go about it? i am using win7 ultimate x64...
thank you in advance...
well, as i understand it, that just tells me that the input can be asio, in other words, an asio driver can be used on spectralissme. but usually the asio driver is already blocked by the host that you use (your sequencer), and afaik you can't use the same asio driver on two programs simultaneously...
The analyzer has an excellent bass resolution. The price is indicated as "free" but it turned out to be a trial that eventually expired. I also experience an inconvenience where it captures the E-MU 1616 ASIO device if I start Spectralissime first and then can't start playback in any software. If a DAW is open already, I can start Spectralissime and they both work. Normally I can open at least 4 playback applications simultaneously, probably more.
