5.0.0 Release Candidate

Dear rdflib community,

We have just released rdflib 5.0.0RC1, a Release Candidate for the up-coming rdflib 5.0.0 release, on PyPI [1] for testing.

Please test this RC and let us know about any bugs you experience by raising issues in GitHub [2]. We expect to make the full 5.0.0 release in about 2 weeks if testing is successful, as per the schedule at https://rdflib.dev.

Dear rdflib community,

A release of rdflib-jsonld, the JSON parser/serializer plugin for rdflib, has just been released, thank you Nicklas & Ashley!

This release includes all the updates in the rdflib master branch since the 0.4.0 release back in 2016 but does not contain the JSON-LD 1.1 updates which will appear in rdflib-jsonld 0.6.0.

In the next few months, we will be considering merging rdflib-jsonld into rdflib, but this only a proposal so far and certainly has not been decided for certain!

With all of your enforced at-home time, perhaps you could test this rdflib-jsonld 0.6.0 with the rdflib 5.0.0rc1 release? We know that that the rdflib-jsonld Issue #78 [1] is likely solved by this release but haven’t done the usual amount of testing due to resourcing.

We do hope this release will allow for rdflib 5.0.0 full release on schedule, on the 18th of April.
