node names

I keep running into this problem, and perhaps other people do too.
When opening a previously-saved cytoscape file, or after creating a
new window with createWindowFromSelection(), the node names are
"ValidatedObjectAndEditString: validatedObject=TNK2, editString=null"
- which makes it impossible to setNodePosition, selectNodes, etc. Is
there a way around this problem?

Hi Mark,

This rings a bell. I vaguely recall someone on the Cytoscape email list explaining (maybe justifying) this. It has some relationship to the editing capabilities of the data browser.

I could look into it a bit, but you could make that easier for me to make time for if you were to send me the tiniest version of the problem, all steps and details included.
