Laal salaam / Red greetings!

The local chapter of World Can't Wait has called for a march in
solidarity with the people of New Orleans, demanding justice &
treatment like human beings for them. This criminal negligence is yet
another reason why the Bush Regime must be driven from power! The
deep poverty, sickening racism, & brutal oppression as a people of
Blacks which has surfaced in an obvious & powerful way from the flood
waters, is yet another reason why proletarian revolution is the only
solution to the horrors caused by this system.

The RCYB endorses this action & calls on everyone to show up & take a stand!

* 2:30pm, Thursday 8 September
* 23rd & Cherry, near Garfield Community Center
* end time & place - approx 5pm, Federal Building (at which point
there will be press conference)

See attached poster/flyer, & message below, by World Can't Wait!

Subject: The Outrage in New Orleans!
From: sea...@worldcantwait.org

World Can't Wait Associates,

Across the nation, there is uproar at the utter inaction by the U.S.
Government in response to the events in New Orleans. Thousands have
died because of the government's murder through criminal negligence
and there will be thousands more to come if the people do not rise up
and force the government to take action and stop repressing the people
of New Orleans but actually rescuing them! The military is not told to
look at this as a rescue mission they are on orders to shoot to kill
any who are looking for food or water, those they are referring to as
"looters".

As quoted in the latest issue of Army Times, here is the view of Brig.
General Gary Jones, commander of the Louisiana National Guard's Joint
Task Force, "This place is going to look like Little Somalia, we're
going to go out and take this city back. This will be a combat
operation to get this city under control." If the military personnel
are being told to shoot to
kill what is going on in the highest reaches of government? The Bush
Regime wants these people dead, for their opposition to be silenced!
But will we be silenced? NO!

All of these results of this far foretold disaster foretell of much
that Bush and his cutthroat agenda have in store for the world. It is
for this, as if the Iraq war, torture camps, and support of oppressive
dictatorships all over the world were not enough, we must rise up from
bellow and drive Bush from power, and the World Can't Wait!

Join us on Thursday September 8th to have a funeral march in true New
Orleans style, this march will be an opening, a vehicle, and an
example for all those who hate what is going on with this fascistic,
oppressive regime and to show our support and utter disgust. Come and
join us on the corner of 23rd and Cherry in the Central District at
2:30. We need as many
people as possible for this march, as well as we need specifically for
people to step up and join the jazz band for the march, be a
photographer for the march, poster for the event (the poster will be
attached to this document), and to help prepare for the march at the
workshop tonight and tomorrow at Garfield Playfield; which just so
happens to also be at 23rd and Cherry and will be going on from 5-8pm.

After the march will be a press conference held at the federal
building where The World Can't Wait will list off the demands felt in
the hearts of people everywhere:

1) All the people still in New Orleans and the other devastated areas
must be immediately and safely rescued and evacuated before any more
needless deaths occur due to government criminal negligence. The
massive resources of government--the ships, helicopters, and transport
planes--must be immediately put at the disposal of the rescue effort.

2) The people should be housed in decent places and their needs must
be immediately met.

3) People who are attempting to meet their basic needs must NOT be
shot down or arrested! Bush's Azero tolerance orders must be withdrawn
immediately. Government should meet all expenses involved in getting
food, water, medicine, and other basic needs to people immediately.

4) The censorship of people in New Orleans and other devastated areas
must immediately cease, and people must be allowed to tell what is
actually going on.

5) The full truth of what happened and how this came to be, including
the deep responsibility of the Bush administration, must be
immediately made known, and those responsible up to the very highest
levels must be held accountable.

6) Volunteer rescuers should be assisted and supported, and not
repressed by government agencies, police, and national guard.
