This weekend is Gay Pride Days, & this year in our city there is both
celebrations of diversity to partake in, as well as foul bigotry to protest against.
Below is info on:

announce the time/date/location...)
The Revolutionary Communist Party USA & its youth group the RCYB firmly stand for
the uprooting all forms of oppression, including those having to do with sexual
orientation. Following is from RCPUSA's Draft Programme:
"As for intimate relations, socialist society will promote values of, and
create the conditions for, personal, family, and sexual relations based on mutual
love, respect, and equality.
"The revolutionary proletariat is staunchly opposed to the attacks on
homosexuality by reactionary forces such as religious fundamentalists, and to all
physical assaults on, discrimination against, and government repression of
homosexuals, which is so widespread and vicious in the U.S. today. In the new
society, discrimination against homosexuals will be outlawed and struggled
against in every sphere of society, including personal and family relations."
On the other side, here's a taste of the crap spewed out by Focus On The Family

"The moral law is as eternal as God Himself, and it actually outranks physical
laws in significance. The universe will wear out like a garment and be rolled up
like a scroll, but the moral foundation will exist forever.
"This understanding is directly applicable to homosexual and heterosexual
immorality, and to every other form of sinful behavior common to humankind. If we
conform to God's ancient moral prescription, we are entitled to the sweet
benefits of life. But if we defy its clear imperatives, then death is the
inevitable consequence. AIDS is only one avenue by which sickness and death
befall those who play Russian roulette with God's moral imperatives."
Bob Avakian, chairman of the RCPUSA Central Committee, says "THE BIBLE TAKEN
LITERALLY IS A HORROR!" For just one example, the Bible says (Leviticus 20:13)
that "If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of
them...shall surely be put to death."

We call on all those who see the gathering danger of a fundamentalist
Christian-Fascist THEOCRACY & who strive for another world free of all forms of

In addition, whether or not you agree with RCYB's whole vision & programme, it is
urgently necessary to act now, send a warning to the fascists & a message of hope
to the downpressed people that you won't stand for this shit. The RCYB method is
"Unity-Struggle-Unity", in other words to unite with our allies against
imperialism & its horrors, but to struggle in a comradely way with people to see
the solution: proletarian revolution towards communism.

We received the following: "Not In Our Name banner making party for Pride Parade,
7 pm on Friday June 21st 1609 19th Ave in southeast Capitol Hill (one block south
of Madison on the corner of 19th & E Pine). If you have a creative side you need
to express and like to paint come out and help us create our banner for the Gay
Pride Parade." RCYB will also go there to help out & to make our own signs (w/
own materials) for the parade & the anti-Dobson demo.

The following announcement from ACTION Northwest: "Dr. Dobson is coming to the
Northshore Baptist church in Bothell for a prayer meeting and rally where he will
promote the possibility of 'curing' homosexuality in today's young people. We
here at ACTION Northwest recognize that the youth attending this meeting are
being discriminated against for coming out and that the parents of these youth
are in great distress due to the realization that their children are coming out
to them. In response to the prayer rally perpetuating this cycle of fear and
denial, ACTION Northwest is holding a peaceful counter-demonstration to show
these kids that they are loved as they are. The peaceful counter-demonstration
will begin on June 25th infront of the Northshore Baptist Church [10301 NE 145th
St, Bothell WA] from 3:00pm-5:30pm. Car pooling assistance is needed."
RCYB endorses this & would like to add that there are multiple purposes of
protest: 1, as stated, to be in solidarity with the gay youth who are being
subjected to brainwashing; 2, to stand up to these Christian-Fascists & their
whole agenda (which is very far-reaching, beyond "just" anti-gay attacks &
propaganda); 3, to attempt to "peel off" some of those under the influence of the
fundamentalist lunatics. This third point is important. A huge part of the
fundamentalists' strategy is to promote ignorance, blind faith, blind patriotism,
etc. Many of these people's "core values", what they think they stand for, what
they started out as, etc, are actually in conflict with the Christian-Fascists'
whole program. They need to be shown what they are supporting in reality, so
they can make an informed decision.

LIVELY DISCUSSION WITH COMMUNIST REVOLUTIONARIES.
SATURDAY, 25 JUNE, 7:00PM, REVOLUTION BOOKS.
TOPIC THIS WEEK: HOMOSEXUALITY
A broad-ranging discussion on homosexuality & revolutionary politics in relation
to it. How are LGBT people being attacked & oppressed under this system? How
would/should they be treated under a new liberating society, socialism? What is
the revolutionary communist view on sexuality, intimate relations, & morality in
general? We'll also discuss the previous, wrong, position of the RCPUSA on the
issue, how did that happen & how was it fixed. Recommended but not required
reading: "On the position of homosexuality in the new Draft Programme"
(http://revcom.us/margorp/homosexuality.htm) & the chapter on "Sexuality and
Homosexuality" in the book "Marxism and the Call of the Future" by Bob Avakian &
Bill Martin (a radical philosophy professor; the book is a conversation between
the two on many topics); both are available at Revolution Books. Note the time
change (to 7pm; it's usually at 6), in order to give people time to get back from
the protest in Bothell which ends at 5:30pm.
This is a weekly event: discussion about revolution or other topics from a
revolutionary communist perspective. It usually lasts a couple hours. The format
is that one or a few people give a short introduction around the week's topic,
which is a basis for everyone digging into some key issues about why & how we
need communist revolution. All honest people are welcome (i.e. no police spies,
people who just want to attack us, etc).
Revolution Books is located at 1833 Nagle Pl. This is on Capitol Hill, one small
block east of the Broadway/Denny intersection. Buses are 43, 49, 60.

The annual Gay Pride Parade will be on Broadway, Capitol on Sunday 26 June. Not
In Our Name is inviting people to join in their contingent. They will meet in
the parking lot of the teriyaki place beside the Broadway Grill (314 Broadway Ave
E, Seattle) @ Broadway and E Harrison between 8 and 9am. NION is "a nationwide
project opposed to endless war on the world, detentions and round-ups of
immigrants, and police state restrictions, calls on all people of conscience to
strengthen the nationwide movement to turn the tide of war and repression."
