Katrina Victims Solidarity & Protest March
called by RCYB
Friday, 29 September, 2pm
23rd & Cherry (Central District) to downtown
Join us to call out this murderous ruling class for what it is! Just
look at what's going on: genocidal neglect, martial law, third world
IMF-style Structural Adjustment Programs for a major US city, overt
racism blasted from mass media into hundreds of millions of homes
without a second thought, the list goes on. The masses scream out:
"what the fuck!?!" In times of fundamentalist lunacy & Democrat calls
to put your head in the sand, the RCP's demands clearly stand out as
sanity: free housing, immediate medical care & rescue, free &
accessible communication to contact relatives, epidemic prevention, no
repression or barriers to volunteers, no charges against "looters", no
profiteering by insurance, oil, real estate, & other capitalists [ see
http://revcom.us/a/014/hurricane_e.htm ]. In the latest issue of
Revolution newspaper, the "RCP is calling for four days of solidarity
protests for the people made victims of both Hurricane Katrina and the
Bush Regime's neglect and abuse. From Thursday, Sept 29 - Sunday, Oct
2, on the one month anniversary of the four days of hell people went
through (and in many ways are still going through), protest against
the neglect, abuse, lies, racism, and the repression the displaced
people are facing." (entire call at
http://revcom.us/a/015/katrina-solidarity-protest.htm ) We are acting
on this call, & call on all other individuals, organisations,
churches, etc who are fed up with this situation to join us. Check
back at this site soon for more details.

Drive Out The Bush Regime! Mass Mobilisation
called by World Can't Wait
Wednesday, 2 November, walkout 9am converge 11am
convergence point: Westlake (though not everyone will fit there!)
Many details & opinions available at worldcantwait.org & WCW
Youth/Student Blog [ http://worldcantwaitys.blogspot.com ]. From the
call: "We, in our millions, must and can take responsibility to change
the course of history. On November 2, the first anniversary of Bush's
're-election,' we will take the first major step in this by organizing
a truly massive day of resistance all over this country. People
everywhere will walk out of school, they will take off work, they will
come to the downtowns and town squares and set out from there, going
through the streets and calling on many more to JOIN US. They will
repudiate this criminal regime, making a powerful statement: 'NO! THIS
REGIME DOES NOT REPRESENT US! AND WE WILL DRIVE IT OUT! November 2
must be a massive and public proclamation that WE REFUSE TO BE RULED
IN THIS WAY." Massive efforts need to be put forth to bring this
vision into being, so start now. See below from World Can't Wait!

R.C.P. SPOKESPERSON CARL DIX GOING TO KATRINA ZONE

Listen to an interview with Carl Dix, on Carib World Radio with Herb
Boyd & Daa'iya Lomax:
http://ondemand.caribworldradio.com/asx/impressions_04.asx (skip to
14:03 for CD part)

Excerpt from an open letter by Carl Dix (go to
http://www.tbwt.org/index.php?option=content&task=view&id=566&Itemid=41
for read the whole thing in "The Black World Today"):

Clyde [Young, also with the RCP's RC4 tour] and I will take the
message of the statement: "New Orleans: A Call To Resist!" to the
people who were and are in the eye of the storm -- that it was the
Bush regime's criminal actions (and inaction) that is responsible for
the death and suffering people have endured in the wake of Katrina. As
the statement says, "New Orleans is an extreme example of what the
Bush regime has meant for Black people in this country. This can't be
tolerated any longer."

"New Orleans: A Call to Resist!" calls out the government for its
more-repression-less-relief actions. It demands that the government
not only meet the needs of all those displaced, but also calls upon
the government to cease its criminalization, arrests and roundups of
survivors seeking relief and sustenance in New Orleans and other
devastated areas. The statement also calls for political action to
"drive out the illegitimate Bush regime."

While we're down there, we will link up with the people who bore the
brunt of the storm and are still bearing the brunt of the authorities'
attacks. We will find out what's really going down on the ground. We
aim to help break through the media whitewash of the situation and
spread the stories of the heroic efforts people have made to meet
their own and others' needs. And we will join with people in building
resistance to the many ways the authorities are continuing to put
people in harm's way. This kind of resistance will dramatically change
the situation.

For this trip to be a success, I need your involvement and assistance.
