date - Saturday, October 1st, 2005
time - 1:00pm
starts - from 23rd & Cherry in the Central District
ends - to Cal Anderson Park on Capitol Hill [formerly Lincoln
Reservoir], 1 block east of Broadway & Denny

The Revolutionary Communist Youth Brigade (Seattle) is calling for a
march in solidarity with the Hurricane Katrina victims & in protest
against this murderous government & the whole oppressive, racist,
uncaring imperialist system which it is in charge of.

There will be signs, banners, etc for people to carry, but feel free
to bring your own! Also there will be a banner for people to sign
afterwards, which will be sent to the people on the Gulf Coast, so
think of a message.

A special call goes out to any jazz musicians who can bring that
special New Orleans flavour to the march.

This march has also been endorsed by World Can't Wait (Seattle). Other
endorsements &/or participation, by organisations, churches,
collectives, individuals, etc is more than welcome!

Here is the RCPUSA's call which inspired this action, from "Revolution" #15:
"The RCP is calling for four days of solidarity protests for the
people made victims of both Hurricane Katrina and the Bush Regime's
neglect and abuse. From Thursday, Sept 29 - Sunday, Oct 2, on the one
month anniversary of the four days of hell people went through (and in
many ways are still going through), protest against the neglect,
abuse, lies, racism, and the repression the displaced people are
facing. Display the Wanted Poster on the back of this issue
everywhere: In housing projects, high schools, laundromats, stores,
houses of worship, community centers, clubs, and everywhere else. Wear
black ribbons. Wear "Wanted ..." T-shirts made from the poster on the
back of this paper (distributors call 773.227.4066, or go ahead and
print shirts using the PDF artwork at recom.us). Drop banners from
bridges, and send signed banners to the people in all the languages
that people speak — Spanish, Arabic, Chinese, Creole... [Send c/o RCP
Publications, PO Box 3486, Merchandise Mart, Chicago, IL 60654 — we'll
get them there]. And in all this, raise our demand that The World
Can't Wait — Drive Out the Bush Regime!"

The "Wanted" poster mentioned is available as a PDF at
http://revcom.us/katrina/katrinawantedposter.pdf . Print at 100% for
11x17" or at 50% for 8.5x11".

The "Wanted" T-shirts mentioned will be at Revolution Books Seattle
soon. 1833 Nagle Pl on Capitol Hill; open Tue-Sun 12-6, except Thu
12-9; call at (206)325-7415 or e-mail rb...@yahoo.com

The latest issue of "Revolution" newspaper -- a special 24-page issue
-- had its last English-language copy in Seattle sold yesterday.

It is still available for reading online at http://revcom.us

Also there are some folks who got stacks to take back to their
neighbourhoods, workplaces, & schools in Seattle, Tacoma, & a slew of
small towns in the Northwest. So if you run into them, grab one up...

When attempting to add those of you who signed for this e-mail list at
the anti-war march & the Nine Inch Nails concert, googlegroups came
back with the error message that the add request was "too large". We
are putting y'all on BCC so you'll still get this message, but it's
funny that apparently there are too many people interested in us for
googlegroups to handle...
