You can make a Difference in the Water in Dunn County
When: Thursday, January 17, 2008 at 7 pm
Where: Menomonie Public Library
Whether it is water from the ground or the surface, its quality and
quantity affects us all. A panel of local experts will help us
understand water aquifers, surface water and how we can help to
maintain and improve the quality of our water for the future. Our
lakes and rivers are affected by how we use our water. Learn how to
be part of the solution.
A hydrologist, Neil Koch, has mapped the Dunn County's water flow and
will discuss the role of aquifers in our area. Krista James and
Katrina Carlson from UW-Stout are studying surface water in Menomonie
and will share that information. In January a new storm water
management program is starting in Menomonie. How does all of this
influence the way we use water.
There will be discussion of ways that we can positively influence
water in Dunn County. What are rain barrels and rain gardens? How
can we have build driveways and have nice lawns that are not
negatively affecting our water? Come with you questions and learn
more about water in Dunn County.
Hope you can come and let other know.
