to Responsible Citizens for Tiffin (RCT)
At Responsible Citizens for Tiffin (RCT), we are pleased to find one
thoughtful and politically aware university student who is courageous
to speak-out about wrong-doing sponsored by his own University's top
official.

Student leader Mr. Cory Boyes sent a "Letter to the Editor"
explaining
how TU President, Dr. Paul Marion, uses his powerful position and
civic standing to seduce a Miami Street Referendum vote from his
newly
arriving students.

I thought that the offer of an Apple i-Pod to newly minted student
voters is emblematic! Dr. Marion and others still believe that they
can "buy" their way. Yet, Dr. Marion was the guy who declared ALL
Tiffin Citizen concerns at the cable-televised public hearing,
"irrelevant".

Notwithstanding the fact that $24 worth of beads actually worked,
that
was 400 years ago! We irrelevant natives are a bit brighter now. A
simple toy or bauble isn't enough. Mr. Boyes alludes to principles of
democracy. Dr. Marion and his followers have cast principle aside,
and are playing the high-stakes game of "get the money". I never
disparage someone else's good fortune, but it is always instructive
and can explain a lot when you simply "follow the money". TU
Officials and their beneficiary businesses can play that game quite
well, as long as no one demands that they use any clear "principle".
Now, at least one student has caused the principled equivalent of a
"public de-pantsing". The pants are down, but we still can NOT see
any
large sense of "principle" that would befit a real civic leader! I
for one am looking forward to further public "de-pantsing" of Civic
Leaders who disregard the rights of their closest neighbors and
fellow
Citizens.

The idea of the i-Pod might have worked, except for the reported
badgering of students who refused to participate. No doubt some
students won't see the dark side of Tiffin University Official's
actions. They won't study all the pros and cons of the Miami Street
Project. But, what will they do when they are alone in the voting
booth?

Mr. Boyes indicates that he witnessed the distribution of pre-filled-
out voter registration forms and "badgering" of students without
relying on hearsay or stories from his friends.

I say that Mr. Boyes has passed through the stage of student
innocence, has become aware of the "dirty tricks" played by
politically powerful Tiffin University officials, and is now ready to
enter the Tiffin Community as a welcome, responsible and relevant
Citizen. I
hope that he inspires others who on November 4th, will vote "NO" on
the Miami Street Project Referendum- Ordinance 07-70.

Our collective 'NO' vote will help restore our democratic republic in
Tiffin Ohio. Please consider voting 'NO'.

Thank you,

Joe Monaco
Tiffin Ohio Voter
