its taken a while but the red tape has finally been severed enough at my school for me to show the world this little movie-

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NsU0YwsWiWM

The battle was titled "The Great Out Doors", as its our first venture to battle in the fresh air.
I have lots of footage of this and other battles fought on school grounds but this is the only one posted to youtube at present.
Im not permitted to post footage myself, it all has to be done by a designated member of staff and she informs me she is very busy, its a pain but perhaps a necessary pain. The kids make me laugh and its great working with teenage mentality, it reminds me of Pete.

That looks like a lot of fun. Were all those vehicles built by your students ?

Your Fox looks quite frisky on pavement.  How does
she handle on grass?

Hello Doug, two of the assets involved are "old timers" to rctankcombat. T055 & T068 have been converted to NERF capability , (remember these are children) T088 was involved and my new Fox in the early stage is speeding around here and there. The school has extensive grounds that I plan to conquer in future "NERF" wars, involving - 1,a well tendered field , 2,thick swampy woodland , 3, the delivery area and 4,the bin store. this space was just outside the woodwork rooms and is handy for initial battles, Stockport Academy is the place for UK tank battling and the kids dont know how important they are to the future of the hobby. The students are given simple tasks that eventually build more complex parts like tracks. Im building a T60 (as well as other things) and I have a few kids each week adding a few track links (the record is 6 in a 1 hour lesson that one of us would do in 10 minutes or less).its difficult teaching a group of teenagers something that Im more or less making up as I go along, but its happening, slowly..thanks for asking. 8)

Hello Joe, thats a very good question, I`havent tested it on grass yet, although I dont think it`ll be a problem on short grass, but long grass I dont know, remember this Fox is running on 12v 7ah SLA`s but could be run on lithium up to 30v. at that voltage it might take skyward. who knows ? its a lot heavier than its frame was designed for but it manages to hold together so far. do you like the turret? would anvilus machine works like a laser cut flat pack sent out? (free of charge to distinguished friends of the FTF) , its a very simple set that can be glassed over or if your "in" with the pittelli clan you might consider a carbon fiber coating as its all the rage dont you know?

Fantastic video Neil. You are definitely doing well with your group of students and limited resources (welcome to the educational system!)

Cheers from Utah,

After much persuasion getting the right people motivated. I can now show more footage of this years battles from Stockport Academy.  Part 2 and 3 of "The Great Outdoors" -

We have had many other battles since "The Great Outdoors" but it takes so much effort to convince the relevant staff to allow me to go public with them that it just doesn't happen.
I can say that battles "Battle of the bin store" and "The corridors of power" have been memorable for all those involved.

Summer activity at Stockport Academy tank building enrichment has been a major success.
Scores of boys and girls in year 7 have experienced NERF tank building/battling.
I was given 4 days during this years summer school to promote and teach the hobby,

See bellow -

Great job with the little nippers Neil. Or is that kippers? Always got them  all bollocked up. Will be great to see them out in the field.  I noticed one of the Royal Guards in attendance. Of course Joe is IN with the clan. We'd maybe even build it for him just to get the Hetzer off the field.  Keep up the excellent work..

Very stylish fashions ... mostly.  It's a shame the instructor was dressed like a flood victim.

I propose all RCTC battlers be required to wear shirt, tie, blazer, trousers or skirt and tights, and black leather shoes during all battles.

Are the men allowed to wear the skirts and tights, or are we going to discriminate based on gender stereotypes...

To the gentleman who looks like he lives under a bridge and only comes out to growl for beer money at unsuspecting passers by, may I inform that it rains a lot in Stockport and one needs to prepare.

Thank you for your kind comments.
