Hello Rutgers Group Manager!
I am a recruiter on a project assignment for WL Gore (Gore -Tex Fabric). I am not a headhunter for this project. I have been assigned to determine if it is feasible to recruit experienced Chinese engineer expats in the US and Europe to return to China – a proof of concept project. Of course the proof will be finding candidates who fit the model, but I am not being paid by the "head". I am reaching out to your group for advice on the concept and possibly for candidates for the attached positions. I hope I am not violating your group rules.
Gore has a unique culture. They are a completely flat organization structure with no titles other than associate. People are invited to join teams by team members based on the individual's accomplishments on prior teams. Gore places a very high value on innovation. They celebrate (as in throw a party) failures because they learn from them. They are looking for several engineers for their manufacturing facility in Shenzhen and a new product development person to explore new ideas and assess the needs of the emerging Asian market.
The difficulty has been finding people in China who can work within the culture of the organization and speak English to customers, vendors and Gore employees in Europe, UK, and the US; thus Gore is turning to Chinese expats who have experience in US and European environments. Any ideas to share on the concept or where to find Chinese expat engineers who wish to return?
Thanks so much!
Joanne
