"Yah!" Gordy kept it alive! A most'Memorable Character of my life, "RIP!" I have a full rcse'Life long history with it myself and not seeing anything of it presumed it had passed! With hip replacement, back surgery and 80 I haven't flown in a COON's age. Son is Stateside. Am vaguely aware of what is happening in RC Soaring today. ~~SKY PILOT

Been a while since I have seen a post and it looks like once Gordy left,
and newsletter stopped that the conversations on this board also quit.

Just checking in to see who is still around.

I’m still here, but no apparent activity on the list.

Well if the list is still active, one of our members found a Pike Superior in the woods surrounding the IRKS field a few months ago. The plane has no identification. We think it was lost during one of the F3B contests or one of the F3J team select events. This means it has been lost since as far back as 2011. I have posted a notice on the F3X page of RCgroups which has had 1300 views but so far no joy in finding the owner. If you have a friend who might have lost this plane, give them a call as we would like to return it. Pike sailplanes have their name boldly painted on the wing. Therefore we know it is a “superior”. Other details are being kept confidential so the owner can identify it. This is a lesson to all of us. If some ID had been on the plane (or more firmly affixed) it would be already returned!

I thought it might be time to jump into DLG-my last javelin launch, I
managed to mess up my rotator cuff after a day of enthusiastic tossing!

I bought a Libelle, which seemed to be a nice starter. It's foam surfaces
with foam and glass pod and boom. The plane was $120, servos $10 each (I'm
too cheap for digital at this stage). It's about 7 oz (about 200 g) 1.2 m
span. www.dream-flight.com <http://www.dream-flight.com>

The build was about three hours. I balanced it, then went to the school
playground to get it trimmed. There's more to the launch technique than I
thought! A got a dozen decent flights. I had one slightly hard landing and
the wing split at the dihedral brace. I ordered another wing from Dream
Flight along with a note that I was surprised that it was so delicate. They
wrote back immediately and said it was probably a defective brace, and they
credited my card. Good customer service.

With the new and improved wing and practice, I'm getting much better
launches. Pretty impressed with it. I just checked their website and they're
out of stock until fall.

You?
