Dear colleagues,  


We are pleased to announce for the Understanding Myanmar’s Development” Research Fellowships 2014-2015.

 

The research fellowship Program offered by the Regional Center for Social Science and Sustainable Development (RCSD) at the Faculty of Social Sciences, Chiang Mai University, with funding from the International Development Research Centre (IDRC), has three main goals: to enhance knowledge of development processes in Myanmar; to strengthen the capacity of researchers from Myanmar, encouraging them to become actively involved in the study of development policy and practice; and to promote academic exchange and dialogue among researchers from Myanmar, Thailand and other countries in the region and beyond.

 

The program is open to Myanmar researchers working in both academic and non--‐academic sectors, including dependent researchers from the media, NGOs, and the private sector.Annually, up to 10 twelve--‐month fellowships will be awarded to fund social science research in the following general areas:

  • Social and economic development
  • Agrarian transformation, environment and climate change
  • Health and health care system
  • Media and society
