 Dear RCSD MA alumni,

We are pleased to inform you about the 7^th International Conference on International Relations and Development (ICIRD7) under the theme “Disruption, Challenges, and Resilience in Contemporary Southeast Asia” during 22-23 July 2022 at the UNISERV, Chiang Mai University which is co-hosted by the Regional Center for Social Science and Sustainable Development (RCSD), Faculty of Social Sciences, Chiang Mai University. The conference will be organized on a hybrid platform, with online and onsite sessions, consisting of paper presentations, roundtable sessions, book launches, and film screenings.

The ICIRD7 aims to be a platform for an exchange of research experiences on issues of disruption in contemporary Southeast Asia and to deepen understanding of the social and political transformations amidst the disruptions and regional and global insecurity driven by the war in Ukraine, the COVID-19 pandemic, the crisis in Myanmar, resource competition, environmental degradation, climate change, and threats to human rights, etc.

We are currently open for registration for participation at ICIRD7 both on-site and online. Kindly note that the registration for onsite participation will be closed on 18 July 2022 and online on 20 July 2022. Registration can be made via this link.  The conference schedule and other details will be available on the conference website.   It would be appreciated if you distribute this information to those who might be interested in participating in ICIRD7.

Note about the ICIRD Network

Launched in 2010, the ICIRD Knowledge Network is a platform for academic cooperation among five of Thailand’s foremost research and higher education providers in international relations, human rights, and development at Thammasat University, Chulalongkorn University, Mahidol University, Chiang Mai University, and Mae Fah Luang University. These five institutions are loosely affiliated in a knowledge ­sharing network to promote international scholarly exchange and academic networking among renowned scholars around the world. ICIRD International Conference is organized every two years.
