OCT 3RD: LGBT FAIR IN THE SQUARE

“A Coming Out Celebration for the LGBT Community’
October 3, 2009, 1pm-5pm
Pioneer Courthouse Square

The Portland Gay Men’s Chorus is sponsoring Gay Fair at the Square, an afternoon of music and conversation with many of Portland’s LGBT non-profit groups, on Saturday, October 3, 2009. The informational fair will take place at Pioneer Square from 1pm to 5pm.

The 125 member Chorus will perform selections from our recently recorded CD On Broadway, plus other favorites from our repertoire at 3:00pm. This is the kickoff event for the Chorus’ new season, “30 Years of Opening Hearts and Minds.”

Gay Fair at the Square will showcase the best of Portland’s LGBT community. Dozens of groups, including Cascade Aids Project, GLSEN (Gay, Lesbian, Straight Education Network), the Q Center, gay sports and arts groups, social and student groups and many others will have representatives and informational booths on the Square.

RCSA: TRANSITIONS

The great ship that is RCSA is changing captain’s.  Yes, Captain Stubing (Jake) is releasing his tight-fisted grip on the wheel.  Incoming RCSA President and Women’s Division Commissioner, Bridget Lahm, is stepping up to guide this big boat into the warm seas of 2010. In addition, new Open Division Commissioner, Nate Larkins, has hit the ground running in preparing for next season too. (okay, some mixed metaphors there.)

Bridget can be reached at: Bri...@rosecitysoftball.org

Nate can be reached at: Na...@rosecitysoftball.org

Jake will continue to be the Open Division NAGAAA Representative, becoming a Resource for the RCSA, not THE source. (yes, just made that up) You will find him on the Lido Deck (back to the Love Boat Metaphor)

A complete list of all the RCSA Officers can be found on our websites under the “About Us” tab.

We are very excited about the upcoming season, and have had more interest from new and returning teams at this point in the year than we can recall.  It is already looking like we will have continued, if not explosive, growth under our new leadership. The RCSA will probably blow past the 30 team mark for 2010.  (Six C teams in the Open Division? Crazy Cool)

So while all of you are enjoying the rainy winter, the RCSA will be very busy getting ready for a banner 2010 Season!
