Dear  RCQ members,  Rotaractors  and  Friends of RCQ,

The National University of Singapore Society (NUSS) initiated NUSS Groceries on Wheels in 2010 with the objective of delivering basic necessities to the disadvantaged, low-income and housebound residents.  Organised by the Society’s Community Care Sub-Committee, NUSS members and volunteers have worked tirelessly to reach out to more than 11,600 beneficiaries at the following Community Development Centres (CDCs) over the years:

·         2010: Delivered more than 2,000 grocery bags to households in South West District and St Luke’s Hospital

·         2011: Delivered more than 2,200 grocery bags to households in North West District and the MacPherson area

·         2012: Delivered more than 2,300 grocery bags to households in North East District

·         2013: Delivered more than 2,100 grocery bags to households in South East District

·         2014: Delivered more than 3,000 grocery bags to households around Singapore

and  RCQ has  participated  every year  except last  year.  This year,  with  RCQ's $1000 contribution,  we are allocated 50 bags of Groceries, and this means, we are visiting 50  lower income families in Tampines area,  In  addition,  we  are  organising 40 members from our Singapore Poly ,  Nanyang  Poly Rotaract Clubs  and  Methodist Girls School ( my and my daughter's secondary  school)  to help pack the groceries bags on  11th  June  9 to  1pm at  NUSS Kentridge Badminton Hall.  (Interested, Rotarians can come to  show your support)

On 13 June 2015, NUSS would be collaborating with the North East CDC to adopt 2,000

households with less fortunate and elderly people. flag off is  at 10:30am,  but let us meet earlier at 9:30  for lite  refreshments  and some fellowship at NUSS , 9 Kentridge Drive ,  S119241.  We encourage members  to drive, as we will have our  Rotaractors  and of course Rotarians  who  do not drive  onboard to proceed to  Tampines  and  usually  to  lunch  after the event. Come  early  to  get  a good spot  before the flag off. this is a good  learning  experience for  all of  us, apart  from  good  fellowship,  older Rotarians  can  share  their  experiences.

We hope that You can join us once again in this meaningful charity event. Your

contribution and support will go a long way in bringing cheer to the elderly residents in North

East District. NUSS would  like  to know who  is  joining  us,  please  reply  before  Thursday 7th May . This year,  our  RCQ LOGO  will  be  on  the Grocery Bags,  please help us to  make  our presence  felt. Wear  our  RCQ Polo Shirts and while  we are  there,  shout to the world  about  RCQ!

Please feel free to contact me if you have any queries and I look forward to your soonest

reply. Email  to agnes...@gmail.com  or  Watsap or sums or call 97887618.

Thank you
