Dear Mukkai,

I hope this holiday season finds you well.

While I'm sorry about the impersonal nature of this letter, I thought it useful to let you know that Google is expanding its summer intern program over last year, and we are looking for really talented students to join us! We have openings in the many areas of Computer Science and Engineering that enable us to continue rapid advances in an increasingly diverse domain of products and services. Openings are in both our engineering and research teams, but, as you may know, we tend to mix research and engineering across Google.

In my experience with the Google internship program, it has been a tremendously beneficial experience for almost every intern, and Google itself also benefits greatly: Papers have been written, new product features launched, etc. Needless to say, we devote much attention finding useful areas and projects that are tractable in a summer's work. The interns find thei r fellow Googlers and the Google culture a stimulating experience.

For our part, we'll do our best to have an expedited selection process for top students interested in our summer internship. If you have any students you think are interested, please ask them to send their resumes to Alex Treister at atre...@google.com. Again, we're very proud of our intern program, and feel that we offer a great opportunity to expand scientific skills, address real-world problems, and do so with state of the art infrastructure. It's very intense and a lot of fun.

If you have questions about Research at Google, I encourage you to visit research.google.com.

Thank you for your time.

All the best,

Alfred Spector
Vice President, Research & Special Initiatives (including, Intern Programs)
Google, Inc.

P.S. We are also looking for exceptional, new-graduate hires for full-time employment as well!

Best Regards
