Students who have worked on HFOSS projects in the past are encouraged
to apply - cost no money - you may get an additional certificate and
it may be useful when you are searching for a job.

Subject: HFOSS Certificate Pilot Participation

Dear HFOSS Faculty,
We would like to extend an invitation to your HFOSS students and those
involved in OSS Projects to consider participating in our HFOSS
Certificate pilot program. The HFOSS Certificate program
(http://cert.hfoss.org) has been developed over the past year as a a
way to recognize student achievement in FOSS development principles
and practices.  It recognizes students who have achieved a significant
level of mastery of FOSS concepts and practices.

We are particularly interested in those students that have actively
engaged in HFOSS projects, this past year and would like to personally
extend invitations to those that worked on HFOSS projects this past
summer. We hope you will encourage your students to apply.

Kindly consider passing on the following invitation to participate in
the HFOSS Certificate Pilot Program. Let us know if you have any
questions.

Regards,
Trishan

Dear Applicant,

As a way to recognize student achievement in FOSS development
principles and practices, the HFOSS Project is proud to announce the
FOSS Certificate. It recognizes students who have achieved a
significant level of mastery of FOSS concepts and practices.

Because you have been an active participant in the HFOSS project
during your undergraduate career we encourage you to apply for the
Certificate.  We especially want to encourage those that have
completed the HFOSS internship program.

The process is simple:

1. Go to the Certificate application page:
http://cert.hfoss.org/content/foss-certificate-application-form
2. Register on the site with a valid email address.
3. Fill out the online application and submit it.

The application deadline is November 11th, 2011 (extended) but
applications will be reviewed as soon as they are received. Decisions
will be announced as they are reached, but no later than December 5th,
2011.

If you have any questions or need help completing the application,
please write to certi...@hfoss.org or to one of us.
