_As you are aware, ResCoalition has been working extensively with DDS to address the minimum wage increase and it's application within the ARM rate structure.  Initially, they were looking at mirroring prior increases - which were zero to 3%. After extensive discussion and educating them, we have the results of our negotiations - about 6%.  Unlike ALL other vendors receiving minimum wage increases, we argued that all staffing hours required in Title 17 are paid at minimum wage, thus subject to the $1.00 an hour increase that is coming.  We also argued that the indirect adjustment should be calculated at 23.7%.  This did not occur, instead they calculated it at 17%.   

The ARM rate increases for the minimum wage increase, as proposed in the Governor's revised budget are as follows:

Ladies and Gentlemen, keep in mind this 6% increase in your rate is only the first of two increases.  In January, we will begin negotiations on the second half of the minimum wage increase - the one that bumps minimum wage from 9 to 10.00 an hour.  This sets precedent that we can build off in next years efforts.  

At ResCoalition, we know paying your dues is a pain in the butt.  We know that it's difficult to find the money.  Keep in mind that money is going towards our advocacy for YOU.  No other residential care group sat at the table and worked with DDS on doubling their proposed increase.  Take the time to step up and make sure we're able to continue to work for you in Sacramento.
